Offering one-to-one structured literacy intervention grounded in the Science of Reading and delivered through a compassionate and research-based approach.
I’m Margo Foster, a reading specialist and the owner of Foster Literacy. I work with struggling readers who need individualized, structured support with reading and spelling. I help students understand how the whole system of English works: spelling patterns, word structure, grammar, handwriting, and vocabulary.
My teaching is grounded in the Orton-Gillingham approach, an evidence‑based, multisensory method that helps students make sense of language.
I hold a Master of Education from the University of Toronto (OISE), bring 15 years of professional experience in post‑secondary education, and have completed a rigorous Orton‑Gillingham educator training program accredited by the Orton Gillingham Academy. I’ve also successfully completed the International Dyslexia Association’s Knowledge and Practice Examination for Effective Reading Instruction (KPEERI), a rigorous certification exam designed to assess knowledge of Structured Literacy and the ability to apply that knowledge to teaching.
I provide specialized instruction for students with dyslexia and support learners who need clear, structured instruction, including French Immersion students whose English reading and spelling may require additional support.
